Janice first
began painting 20 years ago experimenting with all kinds of
different mediums such as pastel, acrylic and watercolour.
Later moving on to using acrylic ink which she found more exciting
because of the vibrancy of the colours, often adding tissue paper
which gives texture and deliberate shapes to the picture. At other
times it is laid down in a random way and the painting put on top
which can create a different and interesting perspective.
Janice
enjoys painting landscapes, especially of Italy, life drawings of
models, but her favourite subject is flowers, especially sunflowers
and poppies.
Her work is exhibited
at three local art societies and has also sold in several local
galleries, in Odiham, Hartley Wintney, Richmond, Fleet and Datchet.
Janice is the
leader of a U3A group where she teaches watercolour painting and
drawing.
